While I support the Second Amendment, I believe that, like any powerful tool, guns must be used with caution and responsibility. As a protector of its citizens, our government - consisting of we the people - has a sacred duty to protect both personal liberty and public safety. Tragically, this has proven to be a difficult task. Consider that over 110 Americans are shot and killed every day, and 58 percent of American adults have either experienced gun violence or know someone who has. This tragic reality shows that individual freedoms can sometimes conflict with collective safety.

 

Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement dedicated to advocating for public safety measures to protect people from gun violence. They champion strong firearm regulations and work tirelessly to close loopholes that endanger our communities. They encourage a culture of responsible gun ownership because they know that gun violence is preventable, and they are committed to safeguarding our families.
